We finally made it to Kanab. We had a lot of fun seeing people that week before but it was so nice to be with family and stay put for multiple nights.
For my brothers job, they were going out catching wild sheep and giving them vaccines and taking measurements. Bret got to go and help with it and we got to go watch for a bit. It was cool to see the choppers fly in with the sheep in an orange bag hanging from it.
While we were there, the kids had fun just playing in the dirt. I walked to the car with McCoy to get something. I sat him on the passenger seat. I needed to go get one of the other kids for something so I just left him sitting there. I was coming right back but I didn't want him to fall out so I shut the door...well he decided to hit the lock button when I did. My keys were in the car and Bret's keys were back at the house which was 30 mins away. We tried for so long to get him to push the button again. He was just so mad and crying because we were just standing there and not opening the door. Oh man I was freaking out! My brother said that one of the sheriffs was coming up to look at the sheep so he would call him and have him bring a lock kit to get in the car. That was supposed to be faster than someone going back into town to get Bret's keys...it took him over an hour to get there. It was cold outside and the sun wasn't really beating on McCoy so he was fine but I was a mess worrying about him. Bret and my bro kept telling me he would be ok and he was. Still, it was not fun and I felt so bad. He would just look at us and cry like we were punishing him or something. He eventually fell asleep for part of that time. I just stood there watching him the whole time making sure he was not too hot or cold and still breathing, ready to break a window at any minute. He was fine and I was so relieved when we finally got him out!
| They put on the blind fold and it keeps the sheep somewhat calm. It's crazy. |
| Having fun playing. |
