Hawaii-Crabbing, a hike, and the PCC

After the wedding my family just played for a couple days. Snorkeling was done, along with some crabbing (my uncle informed us of this), went on a crazy long, muddy, slippery hike to a waterfall, and checked out the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). The crabbing was fun to watch and just take pictures but I was not about to grab one. The hike was difficult. You definitely needed good shoes and most of us were in flip flops. When we decided to go back down we thought it would be better to go through the river rather than up and down through the mud and sticks. It was better for awhile. We still had to walk back on some of the path. We all fell multiple times. When we got back and cleaned up we had to pick slivers out of our feet. It was great... Then we headed to the PCC where Papo's sister gave us a little back stage tour. Papo and his family are pretty talented. Some of them work and perform at the PCC. It's fun to go and see the different Polynesian cultures.  Here are a lot of pictures!

We found lots of Geckos on our car while we were driving. Almost always in the same spot.
The spot they snorkeled at.

It was raining a little and kinda cold while they were snorkeling. I hid under the towel.

Chasing down crabs.

Bret caught one. It's trying to get its revenge by pinching him.

You can see it pinching him in this picture. Later Bret got pinched by the right claw. It's bigger and Bret says it hurts a lot more. I'll take his word for it.

Can you see the little clear ones? There are a lot of these.

This one was bigger. Kenzie picked it up with her flip flops.

 A big snail.
The beginnings of our hike. Everyones shoes are still on and not so muddy yet.

No more shoes at this point. The mud wasn't very deep just super slippery.

This is what we hiked to. If you look toward the top/middle of the picture, to the right a little, and through the trees, Bret is getting ready to jump.

The last few people making it up to the waterfall.
Colton getting ready to jump.
Zed just jumped.
A little pep talk before the journey back down...

This is where we should have stopped and gone to the trail but Bret and I decided to go through the branches.

Bret crouched down like that so obviously that was an open invitation to run and jump into his arms.

The chapel at the PCC where Opapo's dad and aunt work.

Chatting on the porch.

Food!
Lehua (Opapo's sister) was so nice to help us out at the PCC.
