Middle of September school started up again. The summer break here is only 6 weeks and it goes by so fast. Cooper started school first, and a few days later Lynndon and McCoy started. Cooper is now in 3rd grade. They stay with their same class as they started with in first grade. However 3rd grade they change teachers and classrooms, just same kids.
Lynndon started first grade this year. First grade is when they start public school here and they like to celebrate it. On the first day they go to their big celebration that the "old" first graders put on for them. After the celebration the teachers call them up on stage and give them a pretzel. They then go off to class for about an hour then go home and open their shuletütes. That is all usually done on a Friday. The next Monday they start their first "real" day.
McCoy is going to the German Kindergarten again this year and likes it better than last year. He has a good little German buddy named Jakob there and that helps a lot.
Cooper and Lynndon only got to school for 3-5 hours a day and then have homework. Its nice, however they start and end each day at different times. So I have to remember what day it is and which child goes at what time and comes home that day. We are now kind of in a groove but it was a rough start. For example Mon., Thurs, and Fri., Lynndon starts at 8:40, Tues 7:50 and Wed. 9:30 (we opt out of religion so she goes late that day). Mon., Tue., Wed. she gets done at 12:15, Thurs. and Fri. at 1:05. Cooper this year starts every day at 7:50 but gets done Mon., Wed., Fri. at 12:15, Tue. Thurs. at 1:05.
