Italy- Rome (city, Pantheon, Gelato)

Continuing on with the the tour we walked around parts of the city of Rome. Rome is huge and has so much history. We then got to the Pantheon which I thought was awesome. Then ended at a government building. The tour guide gave us a tip of a gelato place which was a great recommendation. It was our favorite gelato of our whole trip. This was a good tour. We were so glad we did it and again the kids did pretty good walking from place to place. With the exception of McCoy in the pack sometimes.
This is the capitol building. Its hard to get a good sense from the picture but it was huge!

This crazy long stair case leads up to a chapel. There are 124 stairs.

The old capitol building on the right, the chapel in the middle, and "new" capitol building on the left.

The ruins of the place where Julius Caesar was killed.

Europe does not have drinking fountains, however in Rome they do. Water runs out the faucet so you can fill your water bottle. If you just want a sip you plug the hole with a finger and then the water comes out another hole.

The Pantheon!
The dome inside the Pantheon. There is a hole in the roof so that it will not cave in. So if it rains it gets flooded inside the pantheon.

Inside the Pantheon.

A government building.

Gelato!

More Gelato!

Us outside the gelato place eating only a few of the 150 flavors they had. It was soooo good!

McCoy enjoyed his gelato. It was also hot so it melted fast.
No wasted gelato.

Bret caught some of McCoys gelato.
