My Grandpa-Kenneth Grant Broadhead

My grandpa was a great man. He was 85 years old and as I think back on his life, it was pretty good. He accomplished so much, raised some good kids, loved his wife, and got to meet about 26 of his great grandkids! This last year was really hard on him. He was in some pain. I guess he wasn't so patient and kind but I remember him being so kind and loving. Anytime we would get to his house he would walk out into the living room with a big smile say "well hello" give you a good hug and say he was glad you made it safe. It was weird to not have that when I walked into their house this last time. I also enjoyed a few summers ago sitting and talking with him about military stuff. He also was in the army but lived on an air force base at one point.
My cousin and aunt put together this video with some pictures. The song could not be more fitting for my grandpa. He loved John Wayne. He was also very organized and had his funeral all planned out. He had a lot so they cut some things out. It was still about an hour and 45 min but still good. We cried a lot but it was the hardest when we skyped Zed and he was crying. At the funeral my dad read a letter that my g-pa had written to be read at the funeral. It was beautiful. Then the next day when we moved to the cemetery and all the military traditions they do were big tear jerkers. Seeing Colton (who is in the military) crying and saluting my grandpa didn't help the tears situation either.
It was all so good and I am beyond grateful that I was able to go! I will miss my grandpa so much but also know that he is in a good place and I will one day see him again!

His cowboy hat, spurs, american flag and his brand on his casket.

My grandpa was pretty good at keeping scrap books. The box on the floor with the candy is his "ammo" box.

Renee with Zed also the men doing the 21 gun salute.

Presenting my g-ma with the flag.

This looks like a picture of some of my cousins, which they are great people, I was going for the guy by the tree playing "Taps".

I was going for getting a pic of my cousins putting their flowers on the casket. I didn't realize Colton was saluting until after I took the picture.

Saluting the gun, hat, and boots.

Colton is not in his military uniform but decided to salute anyways.

 My handsome g-pa!
