Celebrating the 4th of July

There's always stuff going on in Alamogordo and on base for the 4th. We went to Freedom Fest on base on the 3rd. We did the go-carts and walked around, had snow cones, watched a little circus show, and ended that night lying on the grass turf dancing and watching fireworks.
The 4th started not so good for Bret. His back was pretty bad after doing the go-carts (a whole other post). So he stayed home while the kids and I continued on with the festivities. We started with going to the parade in Alamogordo, had a BBQ with friends later (Bret did join us for that and just laid on our friends grass the whole time), and ended with going back to Alamo and watching the fireworks there. We had a good time and have great friends here but would have been better if Bret could have joined us.
Havin a snow cone with their friend Maricela.

Doing some dancing before the fireworks.

Hangin out at the parade.

They liked that the horses were painted.

I took this one for Bret.

Lynndon's hair was long enough this year to actually try something fun. It turned alright.

Gotta have Smokey Bear.

This is what happens as soon as Lynndon sees Smokey. She was so scared but trying to smile for the picture.

We did our little fireworks in the church parking lot, with the help of our good friend Justin, after the big fireworks that the city did.
