McCoy is 1!

Back on June 27, McCoy turned a year old!!! I have no idea where this last year went. He is my little guy so I feel like he is still 9 months old. He weighs about 19 lbs, which means he gained weight from last appt. but still small. I think part of his not gaining weight was that he didn't like pureed foods. So I finally gave up on trying to give him those. I just cook veggies and cut them small. He will eat a good amount like that. He eats pretty good now and just in the last few weeks will actually eat yogurt. He also loves to feed himself. He will let you give him a few bites but then he freaks out and just wants to feed himself. It makes for major messes but oh well, he eats at least. He loves cruising and pushing things around but not quite walking on his own yet.  He is also getting more opinionated and will voice it but still a very smiley/ happy baby!
For his b-day we decided to invite some friends over and have a bbq. Our friends here are great! McCoy was shy at first but then had a fun. There was always someone giving him attention and love.
No pureed foods for this kid.
This kid's hilarious. This is the face he makes whenever you put something in front of him. He is so excited to have it. He does this when you put his food on his tray too.

Then he goes for the goods.

Party time! The people inside.

The people outside.

Kids!

The Culver boys. So sad they are moving in a few days :(

The progression of eating his cupcake. I did take a video of him but it won't load on here.

Washing it down with his first cup of whole milk.

So we did the 4 item thing (toy, scriptures, piggy bank, milk) with McCoy like we did Lynndon. Where you see which one they choose. They each represent something. So the first time we did it Bret didn't put McCoy back and in the middle to crawl to them. He had McCoy by him and he had just fixed the football so I have a video of him choosing the football but then I did it again and put him back and in the middle. He went for the milk. Which is what Lynndon chose also. I did make sure this time to give him a drink before we did it so he wasn't thirsty and go straight to it but he still chose it. So I don't know which one to say. It was still kind of fun though.

One of our friends gave him this and he loves it. All 3 of our kids have gotten a car similar to this idea around their first birthday. All from different people. Kinda random but they all have their own car.

Happy first b-day McCoy!
