On Oct.3 Bret and I went to a Rascal Flatts concert and The Band Perry was there with them! 2 of my favorite bands!
So I am a little bit of a Flatts fan and knew that they were going to be near us months before the concert but thought to myself, I've already been twice and I would have a 3 month old baby. So I didn't think much of it. Then I heard that The Band Perry was going to be there and got excited but still didn't think that it could really happen. Then about a week and a half before the concert Bret brought it up and said we should go. I asked what we were going to do with our kids and he had already talked to our friends the Stewarts and they said they would watch our kids. So Bret bought the tickets! McCoy is a pretty good baby so I just had to pump enough for them to feed him once and then he was asleep for a good long stretch. We had soooo much fun! We were about 7 rows down from as high up as you can get but the place was so small that I think it was the closest I have been.
Casadee Pope sang first. She won a season of The Voice. I didn't really know her but liked her. I did know one of her songs just didn't realize it was her who sang it.
Bret is an awesome husband and even though he doesn't know a lot of the songs, he still got into with me and we had a lot of fun.
My only thought through the whole concert was how much Cooper would have loved it also. He is my music baby. When ever we get in the car he asks for either Rascal Flatts or The Band Perry. If we are listening to the radio he needs to know what the song is called and who sings it. He can pick out RF voice even if its a song he hasn't heard. Although Hunter Hayes has a similar voice and he gets confused when he sings. Anywho then RF started out with "Life is a Highway"...Cooper gets excited about that one because its RF and its from Cars. I took some video and showed him the next day. He loved the video and asked me when he could go to a concert...Oh man I kind of felt guilty that we didn't take him but tickets were not super cheap and Bret and I enjoyed a much needed night out together.
