Last Saturday we spent the day in Chicago! To start off, it was our ward temple trip. We have an awesome bishopric who watches the kids at a church building that is close to the temple. Our great friends the Calders have a Yukon so we rode with them to Chicago and after the temple we all went and played downtown. Bret and I have been wanting to go play in downtown Chicago for awhile but it just hasn't worked out. So when the Calders mentioned driving down to the temple together and staying to play we took the chance, kids and all. It was kind of crazy. We had gloomy, cold, windy weather and had a lot of things that didn't really work out like we planned. For example: Ryan didn't get to go to the temple (kind of a long story), the line to get into the Shedd Aquarium was crazy long and the wait was going to be 1 hour and 15 mins (we didn't wait), the "public library" Alyssa, Lynndon and I tried to go to was really a cultural center (not so kid friendly), the Nike store the boys walked to was closed, I think for remodeling, as we went to leave, the ticket to pay for parking was now where to be found so we had to pay more for the parking than we would have had to, and to finish it off as we drove away...the sun came out. In all the craziness we just laughed a lot and still had a really FUN time!

| They had a DVD player in the car. The kids got to watch Horton Hears a Who on the way there. |
| She only kept these on for a few minutes but it was longer than I thought she would. |
| Lynndon eating Lunch with Alyssa. She loves Alyssa. |
| Starting our trek around downtown. |
| Note: If you are going to walk miles around chicago, bring a stroller for the 3 year old. Ryan was great to help carry Cooper some. Cooper took turns between Ryan's back, my back and walking. Needless to say, we all got a great work out that day. |
| So cool. I don't think I would ever want to live here, but it is pretty fun to visit :) |
| Walkin along the path by the water. |
| This is as much of the aquarium as we saw... |
| I tried to get a picture of the line to get into the Shedd. It starts at the top of that blue thing over the stairs and just keeps going. There is even more to the line than what you see in the picture. |
| Moving on to the next thing! |
| Cooper was so scared of this statue. He is trying to get away. |
| Coop had fun chasing the squirrels and birds. |
| Us in the Bean! |
| Standing under the bean looking up. |
| Cooper thought the bean was pretty cool. |
| So did Lynndon. |
| Eating at Giordanos! It was very yummy. |
| Enjoying some Garrets popcorn on the way home. |
| Ryan and Alyssa enjoyed the popcorn also. We are going to miss these guys :( |
