Salzburg Austria- Hellbrunn Palace, Tick fountains

We took a family trip to Austria at the beginning of November. It is one of my top things we have done so far. We started with going to Hellbrunn Palace in Salzburg. It was built by Markus Sittikus, a prince. Some people liked him and others truly thought he was crazy. The museum of the palace was beautiful and had some interesting things. However the trick fountains were our favorite.  Markus had a sense of humor, which is why some thought he was crazy. He liked to play tricks on people. He built these fountains, which are really cool and beautiful, and when he had people over he would turn on some of the fountains and the people would get wet. Lucky for us it was not too cold so getting the tricks played on us was not too bad.

The Palace

A "real" Unicorn.

In this room you could sit on this couch and read about things in the room while it turned in a circle.

On the stairs of the palace.

The beginning of the fountain tour.

With this fountain, Markus would have people sitting around the table having a drink and then he would turn the fountains on and people would get wet. Its hard to tell in the picture but the seat at the head of the table does not have water coming out, that was Markus' seat.

Our tour guide and more fountains. This one has a mask that the bottom jaw moves every once in awhile. The mask is just under the statues feet.

We all had to come out this door and the tour guide would turn the water off and on. Some got wet some didn't.

There are a lot of fountains. Not all play tricks on people.

The water running makes the people in this little display move.

The crown being pushed up by water is a symbol of political power.
Running through the water. You can see Lynndon in her blue coat running with her arms out.

We were just excited to be there.

Lynndon wanted a picture in this little arch way.

The gazebo from the movie The Sound of Music is placed here.
