Our trip started with driving 5 hours to Belgium to catch our flight. It was about $280 total for our family of 5 to fly. It was a late flight so we didn't get to Ireland until 11:00 pm (there is an hour time change so it felt like 12:00 to us). Getting through customs, getting the car rental, and finding our hotel took a long time! We all finally got to bed by about 3:00 am.
We started in Dublin and just road tripped it around the edge of the island and ended back in Dublin. We didn't make it all the way up to Northern Ireland but still did a lot. We stayed somewhere different every night except one place we stayed twice. One of our first stops was Glendalough national park. We saw some old monk dwellings and hiked up to a beautiful lake. It was pretty fun and kids were excited to get out and run.
Kids were so tired when we got there.
Jill literally drug Clair through a portion of the airport.
We got our rental and tried to get used to sitting on opposite sides.
The first little grocery store we went to just happened to be called McCoy's. You can see how "thrilled" he was to take a picture by it.
One of our stops after kids were starting to get a little car sick.
This girl...she makes me smile. You just never know what pose she is going to pull when you take a picture.
Starting our hike. This was one of the very few times it actually rained on us.
Bret likes to join in on Lynndon's posing.
Checking out the old Monk dwellings.
The extremely tall tower they built to keep their things safe.
The church.
We made it to the lake.
