Frankfurt and a Block Party

One weekend was our ward temple day. The temple is in Frankfurt and is actually the closest we have lived to a temple in the last 7 years. The temple is now closed for awhile for renovations so for now we have to go to Switzerland. Which is still about 30 min closer than when we were in NM. Its crazy and quit the experience being the ones in the session with headphones on listening to the translations. It was a quick trip but really good.
We got home just in time for a "Strasse Fest" basically a block party. Everyone that lives on our street got together for food and hanging out. Again it was so nice that Bret speaks German. We got to meet a lot of our neighbors and I think they opened up more to us because of Bret. Bret was telling them that next year he'll have to bring some american foods. Our neighbors from across the street laughed and said they brought american food...Marshmallows. Naturally we asked if they had ever had s'mores. They hadn't, so I ran back to our house to get nutella (that was the only chocolate I had) and some graham crackers. A few of the kids tried it and some adults but they all thought that it was a little too sweet.

Frankfurt temple.

On our drive we saw this a lot! There are some little cars here that pull these big trailers, it so funny.

Emely trying some s'mores, her dad ended up finishing hers.

I don't remember her name but I think she actually finished hers.
