Single parenting with...5 kids

My mom was planning a trip down here to visit during the summer. I had to get my wisdom teeth out so I scheduled my teeth for when she would be here so I could have some help. What was not planned was Bret's back hurting. After being down for awhile he called to schedule a second steroid injection. The soonest they could get him in was the day after I got my teeth out...he scheduled it then. I really didn't want to reschedule my teeth because I had been waiting awhile for it. With not having dental for a long time and then being pregnant and nursing it just kept getting put off. I made sure it was alright with my mom that she was going to be taking care of 5 'kids' while she was here. She was cool with it, because she is amazing.
Bret was able to drive me to my appointment for my teeth and take me home while my mom stayed with the kids. I was VERY nervous for getting my teeth out. I had a bad experience with a filling when I was younger and the 2 epidurals I had with my kids didn't really work so much so I was nervous about the numbing and that it would hurt. I also have not been sedated since I was like 4 so I wasn't sure how that would go. I only had my top 2 wisdom teeth, bottom ones just aren't there. Which was great! Talking to the dentist he said tops are a lot easier to take out also. One of them had already grown in so he just had to pull that one. The other was pretty simple also. I was only slightly sedated (mostly just to calm my nerves), so I remember everything and it didn't hurt! I just felt the pulling some. My healing after was not so bad either. He only put a stitch in the one he had to cut out. I just took ibuprofen for a few days. It was so nice not hurting like crazy, just eating was annoying. I also felt like I could help my mom out a little. Although I did sleep pretty much the rest of the day I got them done. Any who I don't have any video or pictures of this event because I wasn't really funny being in a conscious sedation and I didn't swell at all so I was just pretty much how I am now. I was so grateful how it all went.
Now the day after I got my teeth done I took Bret to his appointment and brought him home. He has to be put under to get the injection so he couldn't drive and again my mom stayed with our kids. Bret and I made a pretty awesome "old" couple sitting at Wendy's after his injection. Him walking like an old man and me trying to kind of chew my chili...we were cool.
Despite all our craziness going on that week it was so great to have my mom here. It was also my parents anniversary while she was here. Nothing like taking care of your grown children and being apart from your spouse on your anniversary ;) Things would have been so nuts and stressful with out her though. It was also great to spend time with her and of course my kids loved every minute! The week went by so fast.

My mom took this picture. They all have genuine smiles, excited to see g-ma :) It also only took about a half a day for McCoy to love my mom and prefer her over me sometimes.

Reading stories with g-ma are the best.

Bret all prepped and ready for his injection.
