We bought a house in Brigham City

We had been looking for a house around the Layton area but the housing market was not great and the interest rates were going up so Bret and I felt the push to get into something. That led us to look a little further than we wanted. We found a house in Brigham City and Bret would just commute to Hill AFB. The house is smallish. It was built in 1914  and needs some renovations. It's not ideal but this is where we are at. It is really weird to be living back in Brigham but not have family here. It's been hard also to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. The kids however have been making friends and doing well! I am grateful for that. We forgot to have the electricity turned on and the water had been turned off. So we slept in the living room area and went to the grocery store to use the bathroom. Piper was with my mom and came to the house a couple days later. After a phone call the next day we learned that the water was turned off because there was a leak somewhere so the city turned it off. I guess a letter was sent a while back but the owners we bought the house from said they never received one. Bret spent the next day digging to find and fix the leak instead of going to work. It was a rough start. I did get the kids off to school for their 3rd first day of school this school year. That did go ok even though they enjoyed their Layton schools. Our kids are amazing!

Moving in.

Our first night. Unwrapping beds to sleep on them.

Good night!

Our sleeping arrangements. Bret and I were through that doorway.

Happy 3rd first day of school!

Digging

He did get it fixed and we had water that day in our house.
