The morning of the 4th of July we went to Rothenburg Germany. It is a beautiful old town that you can walk up on the wall that goes around it. It also is known for the Christmas store there thats open year round and is part of the romantic road through Germany.
After we got back from Rothenburg we headed to the base for some American Independence day celebrations. Rodney Atkins was there to perform. I was excited to see him perform because I have one cd of his so I know some of his songs. I had so much more fun than I thought I would though. I had been feeling so nervous about traveling back to the states which was going to be happening 2 days later. There were not very many people up front dancing and singing along. I think he just wasn't very well known. I knew almost every song he sang and Bret knew some and got into it with me. I also have great friends that held Piper and watched the other kids while Bret and I had fun up front. The people we were with didn't really know Rodney so they didn't really care to be up front. I did end up running back to them and bringing Lynndon and Clair up to the front with me. It felt so good to just forget about the upcoming stress and just have fun with my friends and my love! It was a blast!
After all our traveling we got pretty good at eating on the go. This was at a park in Rothenburg.
Bret said he wanted everything on his sandwich so Jill and Jason put everything on including, nutella, pretzels, cheese, Peanut butter, Jelly, meat, chips. He said it was ok...
I didn't have a hat for my bald baby so this was our way of protecting her head from the sun.
A handsome guy in a beautiful town.
Bret has a picture similar to this in this spot from when he was on his mission. However I don't have that picture right now so i can't do a side by side.
Typical German/European buildings.
A huge nutcracker at the Christmas store.
The kids were watching this mechanical town inside the Christmas store.
