McCoy Moses Miller

McCoy was born on June 27 at 8:44 am. He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 19 and 3/4 in long. I wasn't to thrilled with how the epidural worked for me with Cooper and Lynndon so Bret and I did some preparing for a natural birth. I was glad that we had done some preparing because there was no time for an epidural. I woke up that morning at about 5:15 with some contractions but not sure if they were "real" ones. Bret was getting up to get ready for work so I got up also. I showered and got ready. Bret got ready and got the kids ready to go to a friends house. By then the contractions were strong and somewhat close together. We dropped the kids off and took the longest 25 min drive of my life to the hospital. It is a small hospital so the walk to the room was not far, which I was very grateful for. Although there was still a lot of stopping for contractions on the way in. This hospital does not have triage, you just go straight to a room, which was also really nice. We got in there a little after 7:30, I laid down on the bed and right away the nurse checked me and I was at an 8! I had no desire to move at all as I felt like contractions never fully went away in between. There was no changing into a gown. As soon as my water finally broke, at about 8:37, I pushed pretty much one long push and he was born at 8:44. I was so grateful that it went so fast! Although it still was crazy, awful and super painful. The only down fall was that I was group B positive this time. So the nurse spent that hour that I was in there trying to get an IV in but my veins are not to easy to get to. Once she did get one it took them awhile to even find the antibiotics to give to me. So they guessed that maybe half a dose got to him before he was born. Normally they give 1 or 2 doses before a baby is born. I was frustrated with my doc because he never told me my results of the group B test. I asked him about it at my last appointment and he told me that I was positive and they would have things ready for me when I got to the hospital...well they didn't and the nurse had to get the antibiotics from somewhere else in the hospital. At first we were hoping to go home as soon as possible from the hospital but stayed there a little longer to make sure McCoy was ok and he is, thankfully!
Bret was my awesome spokes person when we got to the hospital as I was mentally elsewhere, if you will, telling the nurse my info and making sure they got the antibiotics. I was SO shaky (mostly my legs), crampy and just felt like crap after he was born. I laid there for almost an hour just holding him and the nurses left us be for the most part, it was nice. After about an hour or so, some food, and a shower I was feeling a lot better. I also did not tear which is awesome in the healing department.
It was not my doctor that was on call when McCoy was born so i had some other guy that I saw for about 20 mins maybe and didn't say much just did his job. I felt like it was kind of weird and random but things still turned out ok. I am just sooooo happy McCoy is here and the birthing part is over with!
Random thought-So far my labors have been cut in half with each child and that child has been close to a pound lighter. Cooper was about 12 or 13 hours and was 8lbs 11 oz, Lynndon was about 6 or 7 hours and was 8 lbs, and now McCoy was about 3 1/2 hours and was 6lbs 15 oz.
I did not get a before picture in the hospital before I had McCoy like I did with the other kids...

This was the last picture before I had him. He was born on a thursday, this picture was taken the Sunday before.

The 'lovely' just after pic :)

Proud daddy.

Daddy giving him his bath...he didn't like it.

3 kids!

Cooper was happy to meet McCoy.

Lynndon was excited to hold him.

Cooper's photography skills...

Having some b-day cake. Cooper mentioned a few days before that McCoy needed a cake so Bret went and bought one.

Excited to take him home!

Going home :)

Our Family!
