Lake Powell/24th of July & Uncle Greg

I am combing a couple of events in this post because most of it has to do with my Uncle Greg, my dad's younger brother. Greg and some of his kids came down to Kanab to play for the 24th of July, which also happens to be my dad's birthday. One of the days they were here we went to Lake Powell. We all had a lot of fun. It was warm outside, the water was fairly warm and had no slimy nastiness. We also went to the parade and the town had a fun little get together with free food and some little games. The night of the 24th we did fireworks and celebrated my dad's b-day. It was a really fun few days.

Pretty lake Powell.

Lynndon's our little fish.
(cooper at about Lynndon's age...not so much a fish)

Krystal, Cooper, and Katrina.

As they were walking out I thought they looked like an Oreo. They added the "O" hands. Katrina, my mom, and Rachel.

Then they added David and made it a double stuffed Oreo.

Cooper and Greg playing.

Greg was so good to sit and play with Cooper.

My mom and Lynndon were twiners, same color of slicked back hair with little curls at the end.

We had a lot of fun!

I think Cooper enjoyed  the car more than the water.

Krystal and Lynndon went for a ride and Lynndon fell asleep :)

Hangin out at the parade.

The sister missionaries had some face painting going on.

Lynndon's turn.

Watching fireworks in the backyard.

Then about a week ago my uncle Greg passed away. It started off with a motorcycle accident where he broke his collar bone. He went in and had surgery. A couple days later he had a hard time breathing so he went to the doc and they said he had pneumonia so they gave him some meds. A couple days after that he got up at 2 am and passed out. His son that was living with him had just got home from work and saw him so he called 911. When they got to the hospital he was no longer breathing and had passed away. It has been hard on my g-parents, my dad and other family members. In a nutshell Greg was just a big teddy bear. He was quiet but still fun and would tease. He also had a big heart and just loved everyone. He and his ex-wife have 6 kids, 5 they adopted and then 15 years after getting married they finally got pregnant. I am however, so glad that my kids and I got to be here and spend time with him before he died and that we also got to attend his funeral. My parents, g-pa, aunt and I sang at his funeral.  Its a little surreal that he is gone. We will miss him so much!

Greg served his mission in Germany. So this pic is for Bret. I want to know what it says.

Lynndon and Krystal (Gregs oldest daughter, 16) got a long pretty well :)

It is so hard to lose your dad especially so young. Greg was 50 and his kids are 21, 16, 14,14,12, and 9. It just breaks my heart. *love you uncle greg*

So sorry to hear about your uncle.

I can tell you what the German clock says.

"In Bavaria, time is measured a little differently."
